Listening notes

Funk Diggin': Funk Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers is a various artists compilation released by Wagram Music in 2022 under catalog number 3419766. Issued on vinyl and catalogued across the genres of funk, funk/soul, and soul, it brings together eleven tracks spread across two sides of a record.

Side A opens with "Hang It Up," the longest selection on the compilation at five minutes and six seconds, followed by "Till I Get My Share" at two minutes and twenty-six seconds, "Cosmic Funk" at three minutes and forty seconds, "Bump and Hustle Music" at five minutes even, and "Flying Fish" at five minutes and one second. Side B carries six tracks: "Why Did You Do It?" at three minutes and twenty-eight seconds, "Handle It" at two minutes and thirty-nine seconds, "Come on Baby (Come Down Baby)" at five minutes and forty-one seconds — the single longest track on the release — "Mashed Potato, Popcorn" at two minutes and forty-seven seconds, "Nobody's Butt But Yours, Babe" at three minutes and forty-two seconds, and "I'm So In Love With You" closing the record at three minutes and nineteen seconds.

The title positions the release explicitly within the crate-digging tradition, framing its contents as selections drawn from dedicated engagement with vinyl as a medium and format. The total runtime across both sides runs to approximately forty-three minutes. Wagram Music, a French independent label, serves as the releasing body. No additional production, personnel, or annotation details are available for verification at this time.
