Listening notes

Released in 2024 on the U/M/A/A label under catalog number UMA-9152, Ghost In The Shell Video Game Soundtrack Megatech Body.Vinyl.Ltd. is a vinyl compilation drawing music from the Ghost In The Shell video game. The release spans genres including electro, electronic, techno, soundtrack, and video game music, situating it at a crossroads of club-oriented electronic production and screen-adjacent composition.

The record is pressed across four sides, accommodating eleven tracks in total. Side A opens with the title track at six minutes and forty-four seconds, followed by "Blinding Waves" and "Ishikawa Surfs The System," the latter's title referencing the franchise's recurring character Ishikawa. Side B leads with "Spook & Spell (Fast Version)," suggesting at minimum one alternate version of that composition exists, then moves through "The Searcher Part I" and closes with "Can U Dig It" at seven minutes and seventeen seconds, the longest track on the first half of the record. Side C carries "Firecracker," "Featherhall," and "Spectre," while Side D concludes the album with "The Vertical" and "To Be or Not To Be (Off The Cuff 2024 Redefined Mix)," the latter's title indicating a 2024 remix or reworking of an earlier composition.

The running time across the four sides is substantial, with several tracks exceeding six minutes. The presence of a 2024 redefined mix among otherwise untitled-version tracks points to some degree of curation or revision involved in assembling this particular release. Beyond the genre classifications and tracklist, the verified information available does not extend to personnel, production credits, or the specific video game from which this music originates.
