Global Underground Classic Vinyl #1

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on Global Underground (3), Global Underground Classic Vinyl #1 carries the catalog number GUCL01VIN and presents four tracks across two sides of a vinyl release. The record sits within the electronic genres of progressive house, progressive trance, and trance.

The tracklist is organized around two city designations rather than conventional side labels. Ibiza serves as the heading for the A-side, which opens with "My Lexicon" at 9:07 before moving into "Stage One (Pariah's Shadow Lounging Mix)" at 10:28. The New York designation introduces the B-side, where "Paradise (Red Jerry's Longdubbyvocal Mix)" runs 10:49 and "Sexdrive (M & B's Instructor Mix)" closes the record at 7:40.

The track timings are substantial throughout, with none of the four falling below seven minutes and the two longest exceeding ten minutes each. The city-based organizational structure and the extended runtimes are consistent with the format conventions associated with DJ-oriented compilation and mix culture, though the release's specific relationship to that lineage is a matter for the fact checker to confirm against additional documentation.

As the first entry in what the title implies is a numbered series, GUCL01VIN marks Global Underground's use of the Classic Vinyl designation, though the scope and continuation of that series are not confirmed by the available data. The Global Underground (3) label attribution distinguishes this release within the broader Global Underground discography, which has encompassed multiple label configurations.
