Groove Diggin': Groove Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers

Listening notes

Released in 2023 on Wagram Music (catalog number 3438426), Groove Diggin': Groove Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers is a various artists compilation presented on vinyl and catalogued under the Funk / Soul genre. The release spans two sides, each carrying six tracks, for a total of twelve selections.

Side A opens with "Romantic Attitude" and moves through "Good Good Lovin'," "Pauvre Star," "Quips And Cranks," and "Train Ride To Nowhere" before closing on "Sting Your Jaws Part. 1." The French-language title "Pauvre Star" gestures toward an international scope within the selection, a quality reinforced by Side B, which closes on the Czech-language "Pockej Na Mne" and includes "The Things We Do In Soweto" among its six entries. Side B also features "Gimme Shelter," "You Better Stop It," "Ninety-nine And One Half," and "I Got A Thing For You Baby."

The compilation's framing — positioning its contents as gems sourced by vinyl diggers — places it within an established tradition of crate-digging culture, where the act of physical record hunting is itself treated as a curatorial credential. Wagram Music, the French independent label behind the release, has a documented history of licensing and reissue work across multiple genres. Track duration information is not available in the verified data for this release.

No individual artist credits, recording dates, pressing specifications, or additional personnel information have been confirmed for this entry at time of writing. A fact checker should verify individual track attributions, confirm all track titles as spelled, and review whether any additional liner note data is available for the physical release before publication.
