Loves Vinyl - Volume 08

Listening notes

Loves Vinyl - Volume 08 is a various artists compilation released in 2019 on the LovesVinyl label, catalogued as LV008. The release sits across two genres — Funk / Soul and Jazz — and is presented on vinyl format.

The record carries six tracks spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Sexual Healing," followed by "Burt Mambo" and "R.O.T.O.E.M." Side B runs through "Overtime," "Wanted," and closes with "Hardcore Horn." No duration information is available for any of the six tracks.

As the eighth entry in the ongoing Loves Vinyl series, this volume continues the label's established pattern of gathering material under a shared compilation umbrella. The dual genre classification of Funk / Soul and Jazz reflects a programming approach that draws from two related but distinct traditions, both of which share deep roots in rhythm, improvisation, and ensemble performance. Whether the individual tracks lean toward one category or the other, or occupy the space between them, cannot be confirmed from the available information alone.

No personnel, production credits, or additional label notes are documented here, which limits what can be said with confidence about the origins or authorship of the individual selections. Prospective listeners or researchers seeking specific artist attributions for each track would need to consult supplementary sources or physical sleeve documentation.

What the verified facts do establish is a concise, six-track vinyl release from 2019, positioned within a numbered series, and spanning genres with substantial overlap in their histories. For collectors interested in compiled funk, soul, and jazz material from the period, this entry in the LovesVinyl catalogue represents a straightforward point of reference pending further documentation.
