Monaberry Vinyl 002

Listening notes

Monaberry Vinyl 002 (catalog number MBV002) is a four-track various artists compilation released by the Monaberry label in 2025. The record is organized across two sides, with "Gone Girl" and "Magneto" occupying the A-side and "Before My Eyes" and "Feel The Same" filling the B-side.

The release sits within the broad territory marked out by the genres associated with it: deep techno, electronic, house, and minimal. These are overlapping but distinct currents in contemporary electronic music, and a release drawing from all four suggests programming that moves between tempos, textures, and moods rather than committing to a single stylistic lane. Compilation formats on vinyl have long served as a way for labels to introduce or consolidate their aesthetic identity, and MBV002, arriving as the second installment in what appears to be a dedicated vinyl series from Monaberry, continues that function for the label.

The decision to issue the material on vinyl rather than solely through digital channels is consistent with ongoing trends in electronic music distribution, where a segment of the audience and collector base continues to favor the format. The series numbering — Monaberry Vinyl 002 — indicates this is at least the second physical release under this specific imprint or series designation, suggesting the label has maintained a commitment to the format across more than one release cycle.
