Operation Pudel 2001 - Vinyl 01

Listening notes

Released in 2001 on L'Age D'Or (catalog number LADO 15064-0), Operation Pudel 2001 - Vinyl 01 is a various artists compilation presenting six tracks across two sides of a single vinyl record. The release sits at the intersection of disco, dub, electro, and electronic music, a combination of genres that suggests an eclectic curatorial approach without pointing toward any single stylistic center.

The A-side opens with "Der Mond (DJ DSL Remix)" at just under seven minutes, the longest cut on the record, followed by "Internet Killed The Videostar (Jan Delay Remix 98)" at three minutes and forty-five seconds. The parenthetical dating of that remix to 1998 indicates the track predates the compilation by several years. The side closes with "20 Liter Tonne," a compact three minutes and thirteen seconds. The B-side carries a slightly heavier runtime overall, running through "Inszination," "Ich Versteck Mich Vor Der Wirklichkeit," and closing with "Fleshdance" at six minutes and nine seconds.

The presence of two explicitly credited remixes among the six tracks, alongside what appear to be original or otherwise unattributed cuts, gives the compilation something of a mixed character between a DJ tool and a various artists document. The German-language titles on several tracks point toward a German-speaking context for at least part of the material, consistent with the label name L'Age D'Or and its catalog structure.

Beyond what the tracklist and release metadata confirm, the broader context of this record, including the artists behind each track, the circumstances of its compilation, and its relationship to any associated event or venue, cannot be confirmed from available information and has been omitted here. A fact checker should verify contributor credits and any connection to the Operation Pudel name before this draft is published.
