Operation Pudel 2001 - Vinyl 02

Listening notes

Released in 2001 on the L'Age D'Or label, Operation Pudel 2001 - Vinyl 02 carries the catalog number LADO 15065-0 and presents itself as a various artists compilation spanning the genres of disco, electro, electronic, and synth-pop. The release constitutes what its title suggests is a second vinyl volume within a broader Operation Pudel 2001 series, though the full scope of that series is not addressed here.

The record is structured across two sides, designated C and D, a labeling convention that implies this pressing was conceived as part of a multi-disc set. Side C opens with "Aufgepasst Und Eingeschlafen" at four minutes and fifty-seven seconds, followed by "On Film" at four minutes and four seconds, and closes with the longest track on this side, "We'll Name A Mountain After You," running five minutes and fifty-eight seconds. Side D begins with "Heart Of Plastic" at four minutes and fourteen seconds, continues with "Dirty Master" at four minutes and twenty-eight seconds, and concludes with "JD Lives On - Short Cut 02," the longest individual track on the release at six minutes and fifty-eight seconds. The total running time across both sides amounts to approximately thirty minutes and thirty-nine seconds.

The genre designations — disco, electro, electronic, and synth-pop — suggest a compilation oriented toward dance-adjacent electronic music, though the specific relationship between individual tracks and those genre categories is not documented in the available information.
