Power Vinyl 1

Listening notes

Power Vinyl 1 is a four-track vinyl release issued by Bonzai Records in 1995 under catalog number BR 95072. The compilation draws from the electronic, hardcore, and techno genres that defined much of Bonzai's output during that period, presenting its material across two sides of a standard vinyl format.

Side A opens with "Demilitarized Zone (Extended Mix)" at just over five minutes, followed by "Reality (Original Mix)," the longest cut on the release at six minutes and fifty-one seconds. The extended runtime of the Original Mix suggests it was intended to function as a full dance-floor tool rather than an edited or radio-friendly version. Side B leads with "The Wave (Original Mix)" at five minutes and twelve seconds before closing on "El Punto Final (Petrofinal Mix)," a four-minute-and-twenty-eight-second track whose mix title hints at a version tailored specifically for this release, though no further detail on its origins is available here.

Bonzai Records, a Belgian label, was an active force in European electronic music through the mid-1990s, and Power Vinyl 1 appears to be part of a compilation series suggested by the numbered title. Beyond what the catalog number, tracklist, and genre tags confirm, the specifics of the artists behind each track, the circumstances of the recordings, and the release's place within the broader Bonzai catalog remain outside the scope of the verified information at hand.

Collectors and researchers approaching this release should treat this entry as a starting point. The tracklist and catalog details here are drawn from available documentation, but personnel credits, pressing variations, and related context should be confirmed against primary sources before drawing further conclusions.
