Power Vinyl 2

Listening notes

Power Vinyl 2 is a four-track vinyl release issued by Bonzai Records in 1995 under catalog number BR 95075. The compilation sits within the electronic music genres the Belgian label was known for operating across during that period, with this release catalogued under Electronic, Hard Trance, Hardcore, and Techno.

The record follows a standard two-sided twelve-inch format. Side A opens with "Recactussed (Fourth Level Mix)" at 4:43, followed by "Soushkin (Original Mix)" running 6:31, making it the longest track on the release. Side B carries "Rave Zone (Original Mix)" at 5:15 and closes with "Woops (Original Mix)" at 4:16. The total runtime across all four tracks amounts to approximately 21 minutes.

As the title suggests, this was not the first entry in the Power Vinyl series from Bonzai Records, indicating the label had established this as an ongoing format for releasing electronic music material. Bonzai Records was a prominent name in the Belgian and broader European electronic music landscape of the early to mid-1990s, a scene that produced significant output in the Hard Trance and Hardcore subgenres represented here.
