Various
Recoverworld Vinyl Sampler

Listening notes

Released in 2009 on the Discover label, the Recoverworld Vinyl Sampler (catalog number RECVS09) is a four-track various artists release operating within the electronic and trance genres. The record is laid out across two sides, with the A-side carrying two versions of "I Am Dj" — an Original Mix and a rework credited to Ben Gold — while the B-side presents two further original mixes: "Reflex" and "To The End."

The sampler format has a practical logic within the dance music industry, where labels have historically used vinyl pressings to distribute material to DJs and radio programmers ahead of or alongside wider releases. The Recoverworld imprint, associated with the Discover label, used this vehicle to present a cross-section of its roster in a single package, though the specific artists behind each track are not detailed in the available documentation for this release.

What the record does confirm is a deliberate structural choice: pairing two versions of the same track on the A-side gives the format a functional utility, offering selectors a direct comparison between the Original Mix and Ben Gold's interpretation of "I Am Dj" without needing to source a separate pressing. The B-side then broadens the picture with two standalone originals.

Duration information is not available for any of the four tracks, and personnel beyond the Ben Gold remix credit are not confirmed by the available data. As an unreviewed draft, any details beyond the label, catalog number, year, format, genre classifications, and tracklist as listed above should be independently verified before publication. Claims about pressing quantities, sound characteristics, or commercial context have been deliberately withheld here pending further sourcing.
