Replicants

Listening notes

Released in 2015 on Inner Surface Music, Replicants is a various artists compilation issued under catalog number INNER010. The record spans four sides across what the format implies is a double vinyl release, with eight tracks distributed evenly across sides A through D.

The compilation draws from the intersecting territories of electronic, industrial, rhythmic noise, and techno — four genres that, taken together, position this as a record oriented toward harder, mechanically inflected electronic music. The four-genre classification suggests Inner Surface Music was working at a crossroads where club-oriented structures meet more abrasive industrial and noise-influenced production approaches, though the specifics of how individual tracks navigate that space are not documented here.

The eight tracks — Plates, All Flesh, Hiding From Carl, Dissociated Identities, Noys Lambent, Present, Spasm, and Cota — are distributed two per side. Track durations are not available in the source data, so the overall runtime of the release cannot be determined. Individual artist credits per track are likewise not confirmed in the available facts and are omitted here accordingly.

Inner Surface Music, identified by the INNER prefix in its catalog numbering, had reached at least its tenth catalog release by the time Replicants appeared, with INNER010 marking that position in the label's sequence. What this indicates about the label's broader activity or trajectory beyond that numbering is not something the available facts can reliably support.

Collectors and researchers seeking further detail on personnel, pressing specifications, or individual track credits should consult primary documentation, as this entry reflects only verified catalog data. This draft requires human review before publication.
