Retro Arena Gold - Vinyl I

Listening notes

Released in 2002 on Lightning Records, Retro Arena Gold - Vinyl I carries the catalog number LR-2002-024 and presents itself as a various artists compilation situated within the electronic and house genres. The release arrives on vinyl and collects three tracks across two sides.

The A-side is given over entirely to a single extended cut: "Pride (A Deeper Love)," presented here in a pairing of the Underground Club Mix and the Let's Go Chanting Mix, running to a full twelve minutes. The generous runtime suggests the kind of uninterrupted floor-oriented programming that defined DJ-friendly twelve-inch releases of the era, though the specifics of how the two mixes are sequenced or blended within that runtime are not documented in the available information.

The B-side divides its time between two tracks. "Give It To Me" runs five minutes, while "It's Gonna Be Alright," offered in DJ Juan's Club Mix, extends the side to just over seven and a half minutes. The presence of named mixes across the tracklist points to a release shaped by remix culture, where alternate versions and club-specific edits were the primary currency.

Beyond the format, label, year, and tracklist, the available documentation does not support conclusions about the contributing artists, the origins of the recordings, pressing details, or the release's place within the broader Retro Arena Gold series suggested by its subtitle. Those questions remain open for a fact checker to pursue through additional sources before this entry is considered complete. What the record does establish, on paper at least, is a compact and mix-oriented snapshot of house and electronic releases produced for club use at the turn of the millennium.
