Rocket League: The Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on the iam8bit label, Rocket League: The Vinyl Collection carries catalog number 8BIT-8039 and spans three vinyl records, a format arrangement reflected in the release's designation as an All Media set. The genres listed for this release include dance-pop, electronic, soundtrack, stage and screen, and video game music, situating it within the established tradition of video game music presented on physical media.

The collection is spread across six sides. Side A opens with "Rocket League Theme" and continues with "Angel Wings" and "Darkness." Side B carries "Flying Forever," "I Can Be," and "In My Dreams." Side C moves into "Lacuna" and "Love Thru The Night," closing with "Seeing What's Next." Side D offers "We Speak Chinese" and "Whiplash." Side E holds four tracks: "Firework," "Breathing Underwater," "Looking To The Future," and "Escape From L.A. (Instrumental)." The final side, F, is the most densely programmed, presenting seven tracks: "Seeing What's Next (Remix)," "When The Lights Come On (Instrumental)," "Hard Buzz," "Game Time," "Scorched Earth," "RLCS Theme," and "Throwback Anthem."

The inclusion of instrumental versions, a remix, and what appears to be esports-adjacent material in the form of an RLCS Theme points to a release assembled with some breadth in mind, though no additional context about personnel, sequencing decisions, or packaging has been verified for this entry. Collectors and researchers should confirm track attributions and any edition-specific details independently before treating this listing as complete.
