Rocket League: The Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on the iam8bit label (catalog number 8BIT-8039), Rocket League: The Vinyl Collection brings music from Psyonix's vehicular soccer title to a physical format spanning three records. The set is catalogued under dance-pop, electronic, soundtrack, stage and screen, and video game music genres, reflecting the stylistic range assembled across its six sides.

The collection spreads twenty-two tracks across sides A through F. The first two sides open with the "Rocket League Theme" and move through titles including "Angel Wings," "Darkness," "Flying Forever," "I Can Be," and "In My Dreams." Sides C and D continue with "Lacuna," "Love Thru The Night," "Seeing What's Next," "We Speak Chinese," and "Whiplash." The final two sides extend the program considerably, with side E presenting "Firework," "Breathing Underwater," "Looking To The Future," and an instrumental version of "Escape From L.A." Side F closes the set with a remix of "Seeing What's Next," an instrumental of "When The Lights Come On," and five additional tracks: "Hard Buzz," "Game Time," "Scorched Earth," "RLCS Theme," and "Throwback Anthem." The inclusion of the RLCS Theme is a notable detail, tying the release to the game's competitive esports league rather than drawing solely from the base game's soundtrack.

The various artists credit reflects the compilation nature of the release, a common approach for game soundtracks that draw on multiple contributors rather than a single composer. Track durations are not documented in the available data.
