Serious Beats 13 Vinyl 4

Listening notes

Serious Beats 13 Vinyl 4 is a 1994 various artists release issued on the Belgian Trance Mission label under catalog number TM 075. It forms one installment within the broader Serious Beats 13 compilation series, presented here as a standalone vinyl release.

The record spans four tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "Desert Storm," the longest track on the release at eight minutes and fifty-seven seconds, followed by "You Must Admit" at six minutes and twenty-eight seconds. Side B carries "Te Amo (Mad Gipsy Mix)" at six minutes and eight seconds, closing with "My Noise" at four minutes and sixteen seconds, the shortest entry at just over four minutes. The total runtime across all four tracks amounts to approximately twenty-five minutes and forty-nine seconds.

The release is catalogued under the genres of Electronic, Hard Trance, and Trance, situating it within the harder end of the early-to-mid 1990s European trance landscape that the Serious Beats series documented across multiple volumes and associated vinyl editions. The Trance Mission label served as the vehicle for this release, distinguishing it from other labels involved in the wider Serious Beats catalogue.

As a compilation format spread across multiple vinyl editions rather than a single unified album, Serious Beats 13 Vinyl 4 reflects a common approach to packaging electronic dance music in the format during this period, where extended running times per track made individual vinyl pressings a practical necessity for separating content across volumes.
