Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

Released in 2006 on the N.E.W.S. label under catalog number 541416501521, Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 1) is a vinyl release catalogued across the Electronic, Hardcore, and Techno genres. It forms part of the long-running Serious Beats compilation series, with this installment marking the fiftieth volume.

The record carries three tracks across its two sides. The A-side opens with a version of "Dominator" identified as the Frank De Wulf #1 Mix, running four minutes and forty-three seconds. It is followed by "Cübik" at three minutes and thirty-three seconds. The B-side is given over entirely to "Acperience 1," which extends to eight minutes and fifty-eight seconds, occupying the full side.

The track selection spans titles associated with early-1990s European electronic club music, and the presence of a single extended piece on the B-side reflects a formatting choice that allows longer material room to breathe on wax. Beyond what the tracklist and catalog data confirm, the specifics of personnel, pressing details, and the broader contents of the fiftieth-volume compilation set fall outside what can be stated here with certainty.

As a vinyl-only component of a larger multi-disc release, this record is one piece of a compilation package rather than a standalone album. Collectors and researchers working with the Serious Beats series may find this first vinyl disc useful as a reference point for how the label approached format and sequencing at the time of the fiftieth edition.
