Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 4)

Listening notes

Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 4) is a 2006 release on label 541, bearing catalog number 541416 501524. It forms one component of the broader Serious Beats 50 compilation series, appearing here in its fourth vinyl installment. The format is a standard vinyl record, and the release falls across the electronic, house, techno, and trance genres.

The record carries three tracks across its two sides. The A-side is devoted entirely to "Chord Memory (Daft Punk Remix)," running six minutes and fifty-four seconds. The B-side holds two tracks: "Flash" at six minutes and six seconds, followed by "Cosmic Evolution" at five minutes and eighteen seconds. Combined, the three tracks offer just over eighteen minutes of programmed material, a running time consistent with what a single vinyl side and a split reverse side can accommodate in dance-oriented releases.

The Serious Beats series, of which this is the fiftieth edition, has operated as a long-running compilation franchise within the Belgian electronic music market, though the specific commercial or cultural context of this particular volume is not detailed in the available information. What the catalog number and label designation confirm is that this pressing originated from the 541 imprint.

The presence of a Daft Punk remix credit on the A-side is the most immediately notable data point this release offers. Beyond what the track listing itself states, no additional information about the remix's origin, history, or relationship to other known Daft Punk remix work can be confirmed from available facts and is therefore left for a fact checker to verify independently.
