Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 7)

Listening notes

Released in 2006 on the 541 label under catalog number 541416 501527, Serious Beats 50 (Vinyl 7) is one installment in what the title numbering suggests is a larger compilation series. This particular vinyl disc contributes three tracks to that broader project, spanning the electronic and techno genres.

The A-side is occupied entirely by "Owl (I Can See You Mix)," running four minutes and fifty-two seconds. The B-side divides its space between two tracks: "Watch It (Rave Mix)" at three minutes and thirty-eight seconds, and "Cactus Rhythm (Mike Ferlin Mix)" at four minutes and one second. The parenthetical mix designations on all three tracks indicate that each is a specific version of its respective source material, with "Cactus Rhythm" crediting Mike Ferlin by name in its title. Whether these represent remixes of previously released recordings or purpose-built edits cannot be confirmed from the available information.

The numbering convention — Serious Beats 50, Vinyl 7 — positions this record as the seventh vinyl component of the fiftieth edition in the Serious Beats series, suggesting the compilation as a whole spans multiple formats and discs. The series title and the 541 label imprint are the primary identifying markers available here.

With a combined playing time of just over twelve and a half minutes across its three tracks, the disc is modest in length by compilation standards. Beyond what the label, catalog number, year, genre designations, and tracklist directly confirm, further details about this release remain outside the scope of verified information and are left for additional research.
