Serious Beats Vinyl 2

Listening notes

Serious Beats Vinyl 2 was released in 1993 on the Trance Mission label under catalog number TM 057. The release belongs to the electronic music umbrella, with its genres listed as Progressive House and Progressive Trance, placing it within a strand of early nineties dance music that was beginning to draw clearer distinctions between its various strains.

The record is a various artists compilation presented across two sides of vinyl. Side A opens with "Reach (Peruvian)," for which no duration is listed in the available data, followed by "Positive Education," which runs to 8:32. Side B carries "The Crave" at 7:55 and closes with "Ya Yae Yo Yo Yo (Mix 2)" at 6:20. The inclusion of a specifically designated mix in that final title suggests at least one alternate version of the track existed at the time of release, though no further detail on that is confirmed here.

The release sits within the Serious Beats series, a compilation imprint that documented Belgian electronic music across multiple volumes during the early nineties. This vinyl edition, distinguished from any accompanying CD releases by its format designation, presents four tracks across its two sides, with track lengths on the available sides ranging from just over six minutes to nearly nine, durations consistent with material intended for club use.

Trance Mission as a label operated within the Belgian dance music landscape of the period, and TM 057 represents one entry in what was a numbered catalog. Beyond the details confirmed in the release data, further claims about personnel, pressing specifics, or the individual tracks' histories would require independent verification before publication.
