Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Drum & Bass

Listening notes

Released in 2001 on the Slammin' Vinyl label, Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Drum & Bass (catalog number SVLPDB007) is a vinyl compilation spanning the genres of drum and bass, jungle, hardcore, breakbeat, and electronic music. The release is pressed across three double-sided records, accommodating twelve tracks in total across sides A through F.

The track listing runs from "Terminator 2" on the opening side through to "Love For The World (F.O.I. Mix)" closing out side F. Several titles carry remix designations, including "Here Come The Drumz (Remix)," "World Of Music (Apollo 13 Remix)," "Babylon (Remix)," and "Love For The World (F.O.I. Mix)," indicating that at least a portion of the compiled material represents reworked versions of existing recordings rather than original mixes. Individual track durations range from a shortest of four minutes and thirty-nine seconds for "Breakage 6" to a longest of five minutes and fifty-three seconds for "Babylon (Remix)," placing the full runtime in the region of sixty-three minutes across the set.

The compilation's title positions the assembled material as representative of a classic period within drum and bass and jungle, genres that had developed through the 1990s and shared roots with hardcore and breakbeat music. The Slammin' Vinyl name appears both as the releasing label and within the compilation's own title, suggesting a degree of brand association between the imprint and the curated content.

No individual artist credits are verified in the available data, and this draft omits any claims regarding personnel, recording origins, or reception. A fact checker should confirm track artist attributions, remix production credits, and any additional release variants before publication.
