Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Drum & Bass

Listening notes

Released in 2000 on the Slammin' Vinyl label, *Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Drum & Bass* (catalog number SVLPDB006) is a various artists compilation issued on vinyl and spanning the genres of drum and bass, jungle, and electronic music. The release carries twelve tracks across six sides, suggesting a three-disc format.

The tracklist assembles titles that reflect the vocabulary of the era's drum and bass and jungle scenes. Track titles such as "Junglist Warrior," "Ruffneck Business," and "Crackman The Return (Jungle Don Mix)" speak directly to genre conventions, while others — "Spiritual Aura," "Deeper Life," and "What Kind Of World" — point toward the more atmospheric or socially conscious currents that ran through the music at the time. "Just 4 U London" is among the titles with an explicit geographic reference, and "Breakage 4 (I Bring You The Future)" suggests it may belong to a numbered series, though no further detail is available here to confirm that.

The Slammin' Vinyl name was associated with drum and bass events and releases during this period, and the word "classic" in the compilation's title indicates the label was positioning this material as representative of a significant body of work within the genre. Whether the twelve tracks were drawn from prior Slammin' Vinyl releases or licensed from elsewhere is not confirmed by the available data.

No track durations are listed, and no individual artist credits, mastering information, or pressing details are present in the source material. Prospective buyers and researchers should verify personnel and edition specifics through supplementary documentation before drawing further conclusions.
