Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore

Listening notes

Released in 2000 on Slammin' Vinyl, *Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore* (catalog number SVLPHH004) is a various artists compilation spanning genres catalogued as breakbeat, electronic, happy hardcore, and hardcore. The release takes the form of a vinyl package, spread across six sides — A through F — accommodating twelve tracks in total.

The tracklist runs from "Toytown" (6:16) on the A-side through to "Dam Tuff" (5:13) closing out the F-side, with individual track durations ranging from four minutes forty-four seconds to six minutes thirty-five seconds. Notable among the credits embedded in the track titles themselves are a Force & Styles Remix of "Don't You Want Me" on the B-side and a Slipmatt Mix of "In Effect" on the D-side, both names associated with the UK hardcore scene of that era. "Party Time (Remix)" on the C-side similarly indicates a reworked version, though no further remix credits are specified in the available data.

The compilation's title frames these selections explicitly as classics, positioning the release as retrospective in intent rather than forward-looking, though the extent to which individual tracks predate the 2000 release date is not confirmed by the available information. The Slammin' Vinyl label, which issued this record, is identified directly in the title itself, suggesting a degree of brand-forward presentation typical of DJ-culture compilations of the period.

At twelve tracks across six sides, the release offers a substantial runtime. Total confirmed playing time across all tracks amounts to approximately sixty-eight minutes and forty-seven seconds, consistent with the demands of a double-vinyl or triple-vinyl format, though the exact configuration is not specified in the source data.
