Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore

Listening notes

Released in 2001 on the Slammin' Vinyl label, *Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore* (catalog number SVLPHH007) is a various artists compilation issued on vinyl. The release spans genres documented as breakbeat, electronic, hardcore, and jungle, and its format — a multi-sided vinyl package accommodating twelve tracks across six sides, labeled A through F — reflects a substantial physical release for a compilation of this kind.

The tracklist runs from "Divine Rhythm" (6:11) on the A-side through to "Clipper EP" (6:43) closing out the F-side, with a total runtime that, taken from the listed track durations, exceeds one hour of material. Individual track lengths range from "Special Request" at 4:30 to "Do It Together (London Massive)" at 6:52, suggesting a consistent lean toward extended cuts suited to DJ use and dancefloor contexts. The parenthetical subtitles on two tracks — "Do It Together (London Massive)" and "Dreamfinder (Remix)" — indicate at minimum that some material on the compilation exists in alternate versions, though no further production or personnel details are available from verified information.

The title's use of the word "classic" in a 2001 release is notable in itself, positioning the compilation as retrospective in intent rather than contemporary at the time of issue, though the precise scope of what the label defined as "classic" in this context is not documented here.
