SOULCALIBUR – Best Of – Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

Released in 2018 by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., SOULCALIBUR – Best Of – Vinyl Collection (catalog number M01873) is a box set presenting selected music from across the Soulcalibur series on vinyl. The set spans seven installments of the franchise, beginning with the original Soulblade and continuing through Soulcalibur, Soulcalibur II, Soulcalibur III, Soulcalibur IV, Soulcalibur V, and Soulcalibur VI.

Each game is represented by its own record, with six tracks per side across most of the set. The earlier entries draw from shorter compositions — tracks from the Soulblade and Soulcalibur discs typically fall between one and three minutes — while the Soulcalibur VI record closes the collection with noticeably longer selections, including "The Lionhearted" at 5:59, "Undying Legend" at 6:14, and "Doomsday" at 5:57. The Soulcalibur VI side contains only five tracks rather than the six found on most other sides, reflecting those extended running times.

Titles selected across the set include "Bravely Folk Song," "Soul And Sword," and "World Atlas Collapsed" from Soulblade; "Duelists" and "Wings Of Faith" from Soulcalibur; "Brave Sword, Braver Soul" and "Hubris" from Soulcalibur II; "Courage Ablaze" and "Endless Warfare" from Soulcalibur III; "Phantasmagoria" and "Thanatos" from Soulcalibur IV; "Till Fate Writes My Epitaph" and "The Storm Bringer" from Soulcalibur V; and "Under A Pledge" from Soulcalibur VI.

The release is catalogued under the Soundtrack, Stage & Screen, and Video Game Music genres. As a publisher-issued box set covering a long-running franchise, it represents Bandai Namco's formal acknowledgment of the series' musical catalog in a physical analog format. Further details regarding personnel, pressing specifications, and edition size are not confirmed in available documentation and should be verified before publication.
