The Greatest Switch Vinyl 2

Listening notes

The Greatest Switch Vinyl 2 is a various artists compilation released in 2021 on Studio Brussel under catalog number 541975. Spanning four sides across two records, it collects eight tracks drawn from the electronic and trance genres, with individual running times ranging from just over five minutes to just under ten.

The tracklist opens on the A side with "Adagio For Strings" at 7:26, followed by "Beachball" at 7:29. Side B carries the longest track on the release, "Saltwater," at 9:52, alongside "Cybertrance" at 5:24. The C side features "Sniff" at 6:52 and "Sunshine" at 9:02, while the D side closes the compilation with "Ghost (The Mackenzie Trance Mix)" at 8:53 and "Blow The Speakers (The Mighty Ghost Remix)" at 7:14. The presence of mix credits on those final two tracks indicates that at least some of the material here exists in alternate versions, though the verified data does not identify the original artists or the remixers by name.

As a compilation assembled under the Studio Brussel banner, the release sits within an ongoing series, the numbering in the title suggesting this is the second instalment. Beyond that structural detail, the available information does not speak to how the tracks were selected, who contributed to the curation, or what relationship the label maintains with the broader trance and electronic scenes the genres represent.

The double-LP format accommodates the total runtime comfortably across its four sides. Collectors and researchers seeking further detail on personnel, pressing specifics, or the provenance of individual tracks should consult supplementary documentation, as those elements fall outside what the verified record can confirm.
