The Greatest Switch Vinyl 5

Listening notes

Released in 2022 on Studio Brussel under catalog number 5411021, The Greatest Switch Vinyl 5 is a various artists compilation presented on vinyl across two records, spanning genres cataloged as electro, electronic, and house.

The release collects nine tracks spread across four sides. Side A opens with a 7:29 version of "Blue Monday," followed by "Brown Paper Bag" at 4:48. Side B moves through "The Man With The Red Face," running at just over nine minutes, before closing with "Kalemba (Wegue Wegue)" at 3:58. Side C carries three selections: the Crookers Remix of "Day 'N' Nite" at 4:42, "Feel The Love" at 4:07, and the Ben Pearce Remix of "C O O L" at 6:34. Side D closes the compilation with "I Feel Love" at 8:08 and "Pon De Floor" at 3:32.

The sequencing gives considerable real estate to longer cuts, with three tracks exceeding seven minutes and one surpassing nine. The double-LP format accommodates this without obvious compression of runtime per side, though no mastering or technical details are available to confirm how that space is used.

As the fifth installment in the Switch Vinyl series bearing the Studio Brussel name, the release exists within an ongoing sequence, though no further documentation about the broader series is available here to draw meaningful comparisons. The genre tags suggest a curatorial focus on dance music with roots across several decades, given the titles present, but track-level artist attribution is not confirmed in the verified data and cannot be stated here.

This draft requires fact-checker review before publication. Personnel, individual track credits, and all reception or production details remain unverified.
