Various
The Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

Released in 2007 on Citizen Records (catalog number CDZ017), The Vinyl Collection is a various-artists compilation issued on CD rather than the vinyl format its title invokes. It spans fifteen tracks across the electro, electronic, and techno genres, with a total runtime shaped by selections ranging from the brief thirty-three-second interlude "We Love Soda" to the seven-minute-plus closer "Madness."

The tracklist reflects a compilation approach built around reworked and alternative versions alongside what appear to be original or standard edits. Several credited remixers and editors are identified by name within the track titles themselves: Jennifer Cardini and Remote are credited on the minimal mix of "The Symptom" at track four, OK Rocks on the remix of "Danse Avec Les Ombres" at track six, Tepr on the remix of "Glitch" at track nine, Scratch Massive on the remix of "Children" at track thirteen, Vitalic on a re-edit of "Hands Of A Stranger" at track fourteen, and Das Glow on the remix of "High Rise" at track fifteen. Track eleven, "So Far Away," is designated a live version, and track two carries the designation "Borschtchick Edit."

The compilation runs just over seventy-three minutes in total. The individual artist or artists behind each track are not specified in the available documentation, so no per-track attribution can be confirmed here.

The Citizen Records catalog number CDZ017 places this release within that label's catalogue, though no additional label history or context can be verified from the information at hand. Fact checker should confirm individual track artists, label background, and whether any physical vinyl edition accompanied or preceded this CD release.
