Total Kaos 01 Vinyl Sampler

Listening notes

Total Kaos 01 Vinyl Sampler, released in 2000 on Kaos Records under catalog number KPRO14, is a various artists compilation presented in vinyl format. The release spans five tracks across what appears to be a double-sided, multi-sided configuration, with sides labeled A through D, the final side carrying two tracks.

The tracklist draws from the deep house and house genres broadly categorized under the electronic umbrella. Side A presents "Headhunter" in a remix credited to Superchumbo, while Side B carries "The Player" reworked by Underground Sound Of Lisbon, a name associated with the Portuguese electronic music scene. Side C features "Soul Talking" in what is billed as Paul Jay's Free Mix. The final side closes with two tracks: "Dreams, Dreams and Dreams (Original Mix)" and "Disco From The Gods (Original Re-Edit)," the latter suggesting a reworking of existing material rather than a wholly new composition.

The release is framed as a sampler, which the title makes explicit, positioning it as a promotional or introductory document for the label's output at the time rather than a conventional commercial album. Sampler releases of this kind were a common format within the club and dance music distribution ecosystem during this era, used to circulate material to DJs and retailers ahead of or alongside individual single releases.

Track durations are not documented in available sources, and no personnel credits beyond the remix attributions noted in the tracklist titles have been confirmed. This draft should be reviewed against any additional label documentation, sleeve credits, or trade listings before publication.
