Vintage On Vinyl Part 5

Listening notes

Vintage On Vinyl Part 5 is a various artists compilation released on vinyl under the catalog number SRS 005. The release appears on a not-on-label imprint, meaning it was issued without formal major or independent label backing, a circumstance that leaves a number of standard release details — including the year of issue — unconfirmed in available records.

The record spans genres cataloged as funk, funk/soul, jazz, and soul, and carries eight tracks across two sides. Side A opens with a live version of "Give Me Your Love," followed by "Like A Thief In The Night," the partially titled "I Like The Things...," and "Back Rub." Side B sequences "Space Spiritual," "Funky Finger," "Talking Talking," and closes with "Engine No. 9." No track durations are documented in the available data.

The release is the fifth entry in what the title designates as a series — Vintage On Vinyl — suggesting an ongoing compilation project operating under the SRS catalog prefix, with this installment assigned SRS 005. Beyond the series numbering and the catalog structure, no further information about the scope or origin of the series is confirmed here.

Because this release carries no label affiliation, standard discographical anchors such as pressing plant information, credited personnel, and country of manufacture are absent from the verified record. The year of release remains unknown.

Collectors and researchers seeking further detail on the contributing artists, individual track origins, or the circumstances of the release should treat this entry as a starting point. The facts documented here are limited to what has been confirmed, and this draft should be reviewed against any supplementary source material before publication.
