Vintage On Vinyl - The Essential Grooves PT2

Listening notes

Vintage On Vinyl – The Essential Grooves PT2 is a various artists compilation released on vinyl under the catalog number VOVEG 02. The release comes from a self-released imprint listed as Not On Label, placing it outside the conventional distribution structures of established record companies. No release year is documented in the available data.

The record spans eight tracks split across two sides. Side A opens with "Sweet Songs" and moves through "Been Had," "NT (Pt. 1)," and "Out Of The Streets Again." Side B carries "Alchemy Of Blues (Inst)," "Kitty Bey," "Black Love," and "Tell Me Face 2 Face." Track durations are not recorded in the available documentation. Individual artist credits and personnel information are not confirmed in the verified data and cannot be reported here.

The compilation is cataloged across the genres of Funk, Funk / Soul, Jazz, and Soul, suggesting a program that draws from across those related traditions. The inclusion of an instrumental track — "Alchemy Of Blues (Inst)" — is notable as a matter of tracklist composition, distinguishing it from the surrounding material.

As a self-released vinyl compilation, VOVEG 02 sits in a category of releases that operate independently of major label infrastructure. The catalog numbering — with PT2 in the title and 02 in the catalog designation — indicates this is the second entry in the Vintage On Vinyl series, implying at least one preceding volume exists.

Collectors and researchers approaching this record should note that the absence of a confirmed release year and the self-released status may make documentation sparse. This draft has been prepared for human fact-checker review and should not be treated as a finalized entry.
