Vinyl Joose EP

Listening notes

The Vinyl Joose EP, released in 2020 on 2tuf 4u Records under catalog number 2T4U-VJOOSV1, is a various artists compilation presenting five tracks across two sides in the electronic and UK garage genres.

Side A opens with "All London," running at six minutes and ten seconds — the longest track on the record — followed by "Got Me" at five minutes and twelve seconds. The B side carries the greater portion of the program, featuring three tracks: "Over U" at four minutes and thirty seconds, "Bass In The Rhythm" at four minutes and fifty-five seconds, and the closing "4U" at four minutes and fifty-two seconds. The total runtime across both sides amounts to approximately twenty-five minutes and thirty-nine seconds.

The label name, 2tuf 4u Records, and the catalog number 2T4U-VJOOSV1 share a consistent stylistic logic, reflecting a shorthand aesthetic that also appears in the EP title and the closing track "4U." Whether this represents a recurring house style for the imprint or a deliberate conceptual thread running through this specific release is not something the available facts can confirm.

UK garage, one of the two genres listed for this release, emerged as a distinct strand of British electronic music during the 1990s, developing its own rhythmic and production vocabulary. The Vinyl Joose EP sits within that tradition alongside the broader electronic category, though the specific nature of each track's approach to these genres is beyond what the verified information supports.
