Vinyl Loops Vol. 5

Listening notes

Vinyl Loops Vol. 5 is a various artists release issued in 2001 on the Dance All Day label under catalog number DADVL005. The record is a vinyl format release spanning genres that include Electronic, Progressive House, Techno, and Trance.

The release carries three tracks across its two sides. The A-side presents a single selection: a Westbam Remix of "Feeling So Real," running at five minutes and fifty-six seconds. The B-side holds two tracks: "The Odyssey (12" Extended)" at three minutes and fifty-one seconds, followed by "Underwater Love" at four minutes even. The total program is relatively brief by compilation standards, with the three tracks combining for just under fourteen minutes of music.

As the fifth entry in the Vinyl Loops series on Dance All Day, this release sits within what was evidently an ongoing compilation format for the label. The series numbering and the label's name both suggest a catalogue oriented around dance music and vinyl-centric releases, though no further detail about the broader series is available here for confirmation.

The genre designations — Electronic, Progressive House, Techno, and Trance — reflect the range of styles that circulated through European dance music markets around the turn of the millennium, a period during which labels regularly compiled tracks from these adjacent scenes onto single records. The Westbam Remix credit on the A-side associates that track with a producer and DJ whose name appeared frequently in German electronic music contexts during this era, though specific details about that remix's origins are beyond what this listing confirms.
