Vinyl Meltdown 3

Listening notes

Vinyl Meltdown 3 is a various-artists compilation released in 2002 on the Gallo Record Company, catalogued under CDRPM1766(DD). Issued as a CD, the release falls within the deep house and electronic genres and represents the third entry in the Vinyl Meltdown series under that label.

The compilation runs fifteen tracks, with a total runtime that extends comfortably across its sequencing. The opening track, "Roots Remixed," is the longest cut on the release at 7:22, while the shortest, "Ah Yeah," clocks in at 2:58. The remaining tracks occupy a range of durations broadly consistent with extended dance-oriented programming, with several pieces running between five and seven minutes — among them "Only You" at 6:40, "Who Stole The Soul" at 6:24, and "Babarabatiri" at 6:13.

As a product of the Gallo Record Company, a South African label with a long history in the African music market, the release situates itself within a regional context for the distribution of electronic and dance music at the turn of the millennium. Beyond its label affiliation and genre classification, the available documentation does not supply performer credits, production details, or songwriter attributions for individual tracks.

The catalog number format — with the CD prefix and the DD suffix designation — is consistent with Gallo's release conventions of the period, though the specific significance of the suffix designation would require further verification against label documentation.

For collectors and researchers, the record exists as a documented 2002 deep house compilation from a major African label imprint. Further discographical detail regarding individual contributors, source material, and regional distribution would add necessary context that is not present in the current record.
