Vinyl Moon Volume 024: The Lost Expedition

Listening notes

Vinyl Moon Volume 024: The Lost Expedition is a various-artists compilation released by Vinyl Moon in 2017. It carries the catalog designation Volume 024, situating it within the label's ongoing numbered series of vinyl releases.

The record spans genres including electronic, indie pop, indie rock, pop, and rock, suggesting a curatorial approach that draws from overlapping corners of contemporary music rather than committing to a single sound. The compilation spreads ten tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "Heights" and continues through "Drive," "Falling," "Atlantis," and "Escape." Side B moves through "Pictures," "OK," "Sparrows," "ルーフ (Rūfu)," and closes with the unusually titled "Chorus Radio Waves Within Earth's Atmosphere."

The tracklist itself offers some points of interest. The thematic subtitle, The Lost Expedition, gestures toward a conceptual framing, though what that framing specifically entails is not documented here. The range of track titles — from the plainly evocative ("Falling," "Escape") to the more distinctive ("ルーフ (Rūfu)," "Chorus Radio Waves Within Earth's Atmosphere") — reflects the breadth of genre tags attached to the release. The inclusion of a Japanese-language title alongside the romanized transliteration is a notable detail.

Track durations are not available for this entry, and artist attributions for individual tracks are not confirmed in the source data, so no claims about specific contributing acts are made here.

This draft is unreviewed. A fact checker should verify individual track artist credits, confirm the release year, and determine whether additional label documentation exists regarding the compilation's concept or curation.
