Listening notes

Vinyl Moon Volume 031, subtitled The Nature Of Inner Space, was released in 2018 on the Vinyl Moon label. It is a various artists compilation issued as part of the label's ongoing numbered series, catalogued here as Volume 031. The record spans genres including ambient, electronic, and pop.

The tracklist runs across two sides. Side A opens with "Safari" at six minutes and thirty-six seconds, followed by "Forest Sang" at four minutes and six seconds, "Relief Washes Over Me In An Awesome Wave" at three minutes and thirty seconds, "Good Grief" at two minutes and forty seconds, and "Lilacs" at two minutes and thirty-six seconds. Side B carries four tracks: "Honda Civic, Windows Down" at three minutes and fifty-five seconds, "Navigate" at four minutes and forty-nine seconds, "Ocean Inside" at four minutes and forty-four seconds, and "Fingers" at six minutes and thirty-eight seconds, making it the longest track on the record by a margin of two seconds over the opening cut.

The volume title, The Nature Of Inner Space, aligns loosely with the genre spread across the compilation, which draws from ambient, electronic, and pop traditions. The tracklist's individual song titles — ranging from the naturalistic ("Forest Sang," "Ocean Inside," "Lilacs") to the everyday ("Honda Civic, Windows Down") — suggest a curatorial sensibility on the part of the label, though the specific artists and any accompanying notes are not included in the verified information available for this entry.

Vinyl Moon operates a subscription-based model releasing curated vinyl compilations in numbered volumes, of which this is the thirty-first. Researchers seeking personnel credits, artist attributions, or additional release details should consult primary sources or the label directly before this entry is considered complete.
