Vinyl Moon Volume 050: Volume Fifty

Listening notes

Vinyl Moon Volume 050, released in 2019 on the Vinyl Moon label under catalog number Volume 050, marks the fiftieth installment in the subscription-based compilation series. The release is formatted as a multi-disc vinyl set spanning four sides across what the catalog describes as All Media, and it carries genres spanning Electronic, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Pop, and Rock.

The tracklist runs to twenty-two selections distributed across sides A through D. Side A opens with "Future Now" at 3:23 and closes with "Say, Can You Hear" at 3:09, fitting six tracks onto the side. Side B follows a comparable structure, running from "Losing My Head" through "Restless" and again accommodating six tracks. Side C covers six more titles, beginning with "Side-eye" and concluding with "Eha," the latter running to 5:15 and standing as one of the longer individual tracks on the record. Side D carries four tracks, the final two of which are the set's lengthiest: "Oh What A Mess You've Got Yourselves Into" at an even 6:00 and "Spindles (Vinyl Moon Edit)" at 6:06. The parenthetical on that closing track indicates an edit prepared specifically for this release.

Reaching a fiftieth volume is a concrete milestone for any recurring series, and the four-sided format suggests a scope consistent with marking that number. Beyond the tracklist and format data recorded here, further details regarding contributing artists, pressing specifications, and packaging remain outside the verified scope of this draft and should be confirmed before publication.
