Various
Vinyl Perspectives

Listening notes

Vinyl Perspectives, released in 2010 on Kolour Recordings under catalog number KLR-016, is a four-track various artists compilation issued on vinyl. The release falls within the deep house, electronic, and house genres, and presents four tracks across two sides, each credited to a distinct mix or remix interpretation.

Side A opens with "Start It Up" in a version designated as Chez Damier's Vocal Chant Mix, followed by "You Were There" in a Delano Smith Dub configuration. Chez Damier and Delano Smith are names that appear within deep house contexts, and their credited involvement here places the record within a lineage of artist-specific remixing practice common to the genre. Side B carries "Waterpark Funk" in Kink's Daylight Dub and closes with "You're Still The Same" in a version described as Ethyl's Wheezy Garage Mix. The track subtitles across both sides reflect conventions typical of dance music releases, where mix designations signal specific sonic approaches intended to suit particular listening or DJ contexts, though no additional production detail is available from the verified information for this release.

Kolour Recordings, operating under the catalog prefix KLR, had reached at least its sixteenth release with this record, suggesting an established output by the time Vinyl Perspectives appeared. The compilation format and the practice of presenting remixed versions of tracks is consistent with how deep house material was frequently packaged for vinyl during this period.

Track durations are not available in the verified information for this release. This draft has been prepared from confirmed catalog data only and should be reviewed before publication.
