Vinylcuts:1

Listening notes

Soul Heaven Records released Vinylcuts:1 in 2009 under catalog number SHR031. The release arrives as a various artists compilation pressed to vinyl, and its catalog number suggests it was conceived as part of an ongoing or intended series from the label.

The record spans three tracks across two sides. The A-side carries a single entry, "Wake Up (Original Mix)," while the B-side holds two: "Call Him (Main Mix)" and "Captured (Restless Soul Main Mix)." The presence of mix descriptors in each title — Original Mix, Main Mix, and Restless Soul Main Mix — indicates the tracks were drawn from or prepared within a remix and production workflow common to house music releases of the period, where multiple versions of a given track were standard practice.

Genrically, Vinylcuts:1 sits across deep house, garage house, house, and the broader electronic category. These designations point toward a release oriented around the warmer, more soulful end of the house music spectrum, genres that maintained a dedicated following in club and DJ culture through the late 2000s. The Soul Heaven label name is itself consistent with that corner of the scene.

No track durations are documented in the available record for this release. Personnel and production credits are likewise not confirmed here and have been omitted accordingly.

As a vinyl-format various artists release from a house-oriented imprint in 2009, Vinylcuts:1 represents a format and release model — the DJ-focused twelve-inch or EP compilation — that remained a meaningful part of how house music circulated among selectors and collectors during that era.
