Vinyles 2000

Listening notes

Vinyles 2000 is a various artists compilation released by Wagram Music in 2022 under catalog number 3416436. Classified under the Europop and Pop genres, the set is pressed on vinyl and spreads its twenty-three tracks across four sides, designated A through D.

Side A opens with "Femme Like U" at four minutes and thirty-one seconds and continues through "Le Mur Du Son," "Superstar," "Parce Qu'on Vient De Loin," "Belle Demoiselle," and "In This World." Side B begins with "The Ketchup Song" and includes "American Boy," "Dragostea Din Tei," "Marly-Gomont," and "Lucky Star," the latter running four minutes and fifty-six seconds, making it one of the longer entries on the record. Side C moves through "Rock This Party," "Easy Love," "Satisfaction (Isak Original Edit)," "Pump It Up!," "Last Night," and "Life Is Life." Side D closes the compilation with "Dis-Moi," "After Tonight," "New Soul," "Like A Prayer," "Mundian To Bach Ke," and "Décalé Gwada."

The total runtime across all four sides is substantial, with individual track lengths ranging from two minutes and twenty-two seconds for "Dis-Moi" to five minutes and seven seconds for "Marly-Gomont." The tracklist draws on titles associated broadly with Europop and pop from around the turn of the millennium, consistent with the compilation's title framing, though the release itself dates to 2022. The four-sided vinyl format accommodates the full program without compression of running time per side.
