Virus 12 - The Official Vinyl Release

Listening notes

Danger Hardcore Tracks issued this four-track vinyl in 2004 under catalog number DHT 7024, collecting material under the compilation banner Virus 12 - The Official Vinyl Release. The release sits within the electronic, gabber, and hardcore genres, placing it among the harder-edged dance music that found a dedicated following in the early 2000s.

The record is arranged across two sides. The A-side opens with "U R Human" at four minutes and twenty-one seconds, followed by "Kick It" at four minutes and fifty-seven seconds, the longest cut on the release. The B-side carries "Weapons Of Destruction" at four minutes and thirteen seconds and closes with "Turn Up That Radio," the shortest track at three minutes and three seconds. The total running time across all four tracks amounts to approximately sixteen and a half minutes of material.

The Virus 12 title suggests a position within a numbered series, which was a common release strategy for labels operating in the gabber and hardcore scenes during this period, allowing them to deliver focused sets of tracks to an audience that followed the genre closely. Danger Hardcore Tracks, operating under the DHT imprint, was active in this space, and the catalog number DHT 7024 situates this release within their broader output.

Beyond these documented details, the record speaks for itself as a snapshot of where the label's programming sat in 2004. Collectors and researchers interested in the gabber and hardcore vinyl catalog of that era may find it a useful reference point, though this draft does not venture beyond what the available documentation confirms. Further personnel, pressing, and reception details would require independent verification before publication.
