ZYX Italo Disco New Generation Vinyl Edition Vol.2

Listening notes

Released in 2021 on ZYX Music, *ZYX Italo Disco New Generation Vinyl Edition Vol. 2* (catalog number ZYX 55917-1) is the second installment in a vinyl series drawing from the Italo-disco and Euro-disco traditions. The compilation sits across the electronic, synth-pop, and pop genres, presenting eight tracks spread across two sides of a single record.

Side A opens with a Flemming Dalum Remix of "Italodisco" at six minutes and twenty-seven seconds, followed by "Words" in its Original 12" Version, running five minutes and thirty-one seconds. "Waves Of Light (Night Mix)" extends to five minutes and fifty-two seconds, and the side closes with "One Wish" in a ZYX Extended Version at six minutes and twenty-two seconds. Side B begins with another Flemming Dalum Remix, this time of "Happy Children," clocking in at five minutes and twenty-seven seconds. "Your Love Is So Nice" appears in its 1st Extended Mix at five minutes and twenty seconds, followed by "On The Moon (Vocal Version)" at six minutes and twenty seconds. The compilation concludes with "Man On The Moon (Extended Mix)," the longest track on the release at six minutes and forty-one seconds.

The tracklist reflects a common approach within ZYX Music's ongoing italo-disco compilation output: extended and remixed versions suited to the format's runtime capacity. The presence of two Flemming Dalum remixes and several version-specific designations — including ZYX-branded extensions — suggests the label's involvement in shaping at least some of the material for this release. The total programme spans just under fifty minutes across both sides.
