ZYX Italo Disco New Generation Vinyl Edition Vol.3

Listening notes

ZYX Music released ZYX Italo Disco New Generation Vinyl Edition Vol. 3 in 2021 under catalog number ZYX 55929-1. As the title indicates, this is the third volume in the label's New Generation Vinyl Edition series dedicated to italo disco, and it arrives in vinyl format.

The compilation draws from the genres of electronic, Euro-disco, italo-disco, pop, and synth-pop, situating it within the broader tradition that ZYX Music has long associated with its italo disco catalog. The release brings together eight tracks across two sides, with individual running times ranging from just over five minutes to just over seven.

Side A opens with "Forever Starts Today," presented here in an Also Playable Mono Remix at 6:42. It is followed by "Lonely Night" in a remix credited to Flemming Dalum, running 6:22, then "Don't Be Shy" in a Ryan Benson Remix at 5:31, and closing with "Forever Young" in a Flashback Remix at 6:01. Side B leads with "Dark Affair" at 7:08, the longest track on the record, followed by "Love Is In Your Heart" at 5:24, "See You Again" in an Extended Mix at 6:33, and closing with "Mi Amor" in a second Flemming Dalum Remix, running 5:54.

The tracklist reflects a consistent curatorial approach to extended and remixed versions, with Flemming Dalum credited on two of the eight tracks. The mono remix designation on the opening track is a notable presentation choice, though no further context for that decision is available from the release data alone.
