Vinyl Countdown
Total Confusion

Listening notes

Vinyl Countdown's Total Confusion is a two-track vinyl release issued in 1999 on the Kreisel 99 label, catalogued as kreisel99/32. Falling within the electronic and techno genres, the record presents a straightforward format: a single track on each side, both sharing the Total Confusion title and distinguished by number.

The A-side, Total Confusion 1, runs for five minutes and three seconds. The B-side, Total Confusion 2, extends the material slightly further at five minutes and twenty-five seconds. The structural decision to split what is nominally the same piece across both sides of a twelve-inch — differentiated only by a numeric suffix — is a format choice that was not uncommon within techno releases of the period, where variations on a theme or alternate mixes served practical purposes for DJs seeking flexibility across an extended set.

Beyond what the catalog entry confirms, little additional detail is available here. Personnel, recording circumstances, and the label's broader context fall outside what the verified facts support, and no claims are made on those points. Kreisel 99 appears as the releasing body, and 1999 is the confirmed year of issue.

For collectors and researchers working through the techno output of that year, this release represents a compact, clearly identified entry point: a known artist name, a known label, a known catalog number, and two tracks with confirmed running times. Those details, modest as they are, provide the foundation for further investigation into the release's place within the Kreisel 99 catalog or within the wider output attributed to the Vinyl Countdown name.
