Vinyl Junkie Feat. Martina (7) / Sy & Unknown
Anyone / Top Tune (Vinyl Junkie Remix)

Listening notes

Released in 1998 on Junkie Vinyl, the double A-side single catalogued as JVR 004 presents two tracks operating within the electronic and happy hardcore genres. The A-side, "Anyone," is credited to Vinyl Junkie featuring Martina, while the AA-side offers "Top Tune (Vinyl Junkie Remix)," credited to Sy and Unknown, with the remix work attributed to Vinyl Junkie.

The release sits within the happy hardcore scene of the late 1990s, a period when the genre maintained a dedicated following in the United Kingdom and supported a network of independent labels releasing music directly to that audience on vinyl. Junkie Vinyl, as both a label name and the artist alias present on both sides of this record, suggests a close relationship between the releasing imprint and the producer behind the material, though the precise nature of that relationship is not confirmed by the available information.

The catalog number JVR 004 places this release as the fourth entry in the Junkie Vinyl catalog, indicating the label had issued at least three prior releases before this point. The decision to designate both sides as A-sides, using the A and AA notation, was a common practice in UK single releases of this era and reflects a commercial framing of both tracks as equally central to the package rather than presenting one as a supporting flip side.

Martina is credited as a featured vocalist on the A-side, and Sy and Unknown are the originating artists on the AA-side, with Vinyl Junkie providing the remix. No additional personnel, production credits, or recording details are confirmed beyond what is listed above. Duration information for either track is not available in the current record.
