Vulfpeck
Vinyl Discography (2011-2014)

Listening notes

Vulfpeck's Vinyl Discography (2011–2014), released in 2015 on the band's own Vulf Records imprint under catalog number VULF1201, is a double-LP compilation spanning the group's early recording years. Working within the genres of funk, soul, contemporary R&B, and funk/soul, Vulfpeck assembled twenty-five tracks across four sides for this release.

The set opens on Side A with "Beastly" and works through material including the first installment of the recurring "It Gets Funkier" series, which reappears as "It Gets Funkier II" on Side B and "It Gets Funkier III" on Side C, suggesting a deliberate sequencing choice across the four sides. Side A runs six tracks totaling just over twenty-five minutes, while Side B also carries six tracks and includes the longer "A Walk To Remember" at five minutes and twelve seconds for "It Gets Funkier II." Side C continues with six tracks, among them shorter pieces such as "The Birdwatcher" at two minutes thirty-five seconds and "Kuhmilch 74 BPM" at two minutes eleven seconds. Side D closes the collection with seven tracks, the most of any side, ending with both an instrumental and vocal version of "Christmas In L.A."

The total runtime across all four sides is substantial, representing a broad survey of material the band produced between 2011 and 2014. The release is notable for appearing on Vulf Records, the band's self-operated label, rather than through an outside distributor. The catalog number VULF1201 places it within that label's internal numbering system.
