WhoMadeWho & ARTBAT
Montserrat / Closer

Listening notes

Released in 2019 on Watergate Records, the two-track vinyl single from WhoMadeWho and ARTBAT carries catalog number WGVINYL057 and sits within the genres of deep house, electronic, and minimal. The release pairs two pieces across its two sides: the A-side presents "Montserrat (Artbat Edit)," while the B-side carries "Closer."

WhoMadeWho is a Danish group and ARTBAT is a Ukrainian electronic duo, and this release represents a collaboration between the two acts under the Watergate Records imprint, a Berlin-based label with a long-standing connection to electronic club music. The catalog number places this release within an established sequence of vinyl output from the label.

The designation of the A-side track as an "Artbat Edit" indicates that the version of "Montserrat" presented here reflects a reworking attributed specifically to ARTBAT, distinguishing it from any other versions that may exist. Beyond what the tracklist itself communicates, the nature and extent of each act's contributions to either track are not documented in the verified information available for this release.

Duration data for both tracks is not available in the current source material and should be confirmed before publication. Similarly, any details regarding pressing specifications, matrix information, or variant editions are absent from the verified facts and have been omitted here accordingly.

This release represents one data point in the broader catalogs of both WhoMadeWho and ARTBAT, as well as in the vinyl output of Watergate Records. Readers seeking additional context around the label's history or either artist's wider discography should consult verified sources, as those details fall outside the scope of what can be confirmed for this specific release.
