Hi-Fi - The Wizzards Of Ooze Remixed - Vinyl 02

Listening notes

Released in 2000 on Wha? Roots Recordings, "Hi-Fi - The Wizzards Of Ooze Remixed - Vinyl 02" is a three-track twelve-inch from Wizards Of Ooze, catalogued as WHA? 002. As the catalog number suggests, this release sits as the second entry in the label's discography, positioning it as an early offering from Wha? Roots Recordings.

The release draws on genres spanning acid jazz, electronic, and house, a combination that points to the cross-pollination of styles that was not uncommon in remix-oriented releases of that era. The format is a single vinyl record carrying just over twenty-one minutes of material across its two sides.

The A-side presents a single version of the source track: "Hi-Fi (Swirl People Stereo Dub)," running eight minutes and fifteen seconds. The B-side divides its time between two further interpretations. "Hi-Fi (Los Chicharrons Vs. Tim 'Love' Lee)" occupies the first slot at five minutes and fifty-four seconds, followed by "Hi-Fi (Raw Remix By Smos, Baby B & Marius)," which closes the record at seven minutes and one second.

The tracklist credits a range of named remixers and collaborators — Swirl People, Los Chicharrons, Tim "Love" Lee, and the trio of Smos, Baby B, and Marius — reflecting the remix-compilation approach common to twelve-inch promotional and commercial releases of the period. Each version carries its own distinct credited identity, suggesting participation from multiple outside contributors rather than in-house reworking alone.

Beyond what the label, catalog number, year, format, genre tags, and tracklist confirm, further detail about this release remains outside the scope of this entry and is left for verification.
