Xana (23)
Tantrums

Listening notes

Tantrums is a 2022 vinyl release from Xana (23), issued on the artist's own Xana Morris imprint without an assigned catalog number. The record spans twelve tracks divided across two sides, placing it in the indie pop and pop genres.

Side A opens with "i did this all for you!" at 2:44 before moving into the longer "12 missed calls" at 3:38. The side continues with the brief "Once More, With Feeling!" at 1:50, then expands considerably with "Kitchen Light," the side's longest track at 4:17. "Love Like This" and "Yellow" close out the first side at 3:44 and 3:42 respectively, giving Side A a cumulative runtime of just under twenty minutes.

Side B leads with "Cupid," the single longest track on the record at 4:45, followed by "the blue room interlude" at 1:55. "Complex" runs 3:32, and "My Therapist Told Me" comes in at 2:59. "so it's ur birthday" at 3:43 precedes the closing track, "19," which at 6:02 is a notably extended piece relative to the rest of the program and serves as the record's final statement.

The release is self-released under the Xana Morris name, a detail that places Tantrums within a broader contemporary pattern of artists managing their own physical output independently. The absence of a catalog number is consistent with small-scale or first-time vinyl pressings of this kind. Across its twelve tracks, the album totals approximately 42 minutes of material.
