Yellow Magic Orchestra
After Service: Standard Vinyl Edition

Listening notes

Yellow Magic Orchestra's After Service was released on vinyl in 2019 through Great Tracks (2) under catalog number MHJL 97~98. The release spans four sides across two records, catalogued under the Electronic and Synth-pop genres.

The tracklist runs to nineteen selections distributed across the four sides. Side A opens with "Propaganda" at one minute and fifty-three seconds before moving into "Tong Poo = 東風," "Behind The Mask," "Solid State Survivor," and "La Femme Chinoise = 中国女." Side B carries "Ongaku," "Focus," "Ballet," "Wild Ambitions," and "Kai-Koh." Side C presents "Expecting Rivers = 希望の河," "See-Through," "Key," "Technopolis," and "Rydeen." Side D closes the set with "You've Got To Help Yourself = 以心電信," "Kageki Na Syukujo = 過激な淑女," "Kimi Ni Munekyun - Uwaki Na Vacances = 君に、胸キュン," and "Firecracker," the latter running five minutes and twenty-one seconds.

Several titles in the tracklist carry both romanized Japanese and kanji designations, reflecting the bilingual presentation that appears across the sequence. The total running time across all four sides is substantial, with individual tracks ranging from the brief "Propaganda" opener to longer pieces such as "Ballet" at five minutes and twenty-nine seconds and "Firecracker" at five minutes and twenty-one seconds.

This 2019 pressing represents a vinyl edition of the release, documented here as the Standard Vinyl Edition to distinguish it from any variant editions that may exist under the same title.
